Itinerary Detail
Day 1: Arrive at Entebbe International Airport
Uganda’s main international gateway where you will be picked and welcomed by our guide who will also brief of you to enable you to prepare for the next day. (1night)
Day 2: Kampala City Tour & Cultural Heritage
After breakfast visit the Uganda Museum. Here, you will get a deep dive into Uganda’s rich history with exhibits on traditional music, costumes, and archaeological findings. Then proceed to Kasubi Tombs a UNESCO World Heritage site, home to the tombs of Buganda kings, showcasing traditional Buganda architecture and rituals. You will watch a live performance of traditional Buganda dances such as the Kiganda dance and drum performances. You will also visit Buganda Road market to explore Ugandan crafts beadwork, carvings, and fabrics. A whole around Kampala and the evening check in the hotel (1night)
Day 3: The Ankole Kingdom and Ekiyogwe Cattle Tour
After breakfast, get briefs from our guide, and then embark on the journey to Western Uganda (Ankole region) specifically districts of Mbarara, Kiruhura, Kazo. Here, you will explore the Ankole region, known for its famous long-horned cattle, “Ekiyogwe.” You will visit the Ankole Heritage Centre where you will discover the heritage of the Ankole kingdom, including traditional rituals, crafts, and historical artifacts. You will also enjoy Cow Herding Experience. Additionally, you will have an opportunity of participating in the hands-on experience of herding the Ankole cattle and learn about the significance of these animals in Ankole culture and their role in the community. Day 4: Drive to Lake Bunyonyi
After breakfast, get briefs from our guide and drive to lake Bunyonyi where you will have a boat ride to visit islands referred to as punishment islands (where girls who would get pregnant before marriage, would be taken for punishment) and Bushara Islands where people with leprosy would be taken for treatment during the days of colonialism. In the afternoon drive to Kisoro and arrive in the evening. Check in the hotel. (I night)
Day 5: Drive to Batwa Community in Kisoro
After breakfast, get briefs from our guide after and then get a drive to the Batwa community in Kisoro. Here, you will learn about the indigenous Batwa people, their history as forest dwellers, and their unique cultural traditions. You will experience their songs, dances, and rituals around fire. Additionally, you will, participate in activities such as traditional cooking, and storytelling, and learn how the Batwa lived in harmony with nature. In the evening check in the hotel (1night)
DAY 6: Drive back to Kampala
After breakfast, get briefs from the guide to thank you for the trip you have had with us and to prepare you for the journey back to Kampala or Entebbe Airport to catch your flight.
